as october starts to rear its awesomely horrificly ugly head.. what films will you be dusting off and popping into your dvd/vhs/netflix queue/torrent software? anything youre intending on sharing wiht your kids… or parents… or anythign youve exposed them to in the past? anything you watched yourself as a kid? personally i remember when i was really little in kansas city probably about 7.. my friends older brother started scarring me when he told me about dracula… i was hooked, and i didnt stop with dracula or jsut vampire films… i LOVE gore… utterly love it… have ever since i was a kid.. but i love having the living hell terrorised out of me even more… the creepier the movie the better… real terror makes up for gore in a big way whther its about some glowing eyed undefined creature peering in your daughters attic bedroom window when you open the curtains… a group of masked teenagers torturing you and your family in an isolated farmhouse or some little possessed girl walking down the steps backward like a spider.. or even better.. a man in some dog/bear costume doing some mysterious thing to a butler in an abandoned hotel in the mountains while 2 twin girls walk around speaking in unison about how they want you to play with them for ever and ever and ever and ever my kids were big big fans of the children and the bad seed when they were yojnger… dont think i didnt notice a distinct pattern there… they would even request to watch them by describing the horrible acts that the kids in the films would do to murder the adults personally ill probably pop in a few horrifically wonderful bloody disgusting grindhouse classis from the founding father of gore HG Lewis… and some standard argento stuff… definitely the 3 mothers trillogy if nothing else, and i will most likely top it off with the most horrifying nightmarish films ever on halloween night…. C*H*O*M*P*S* , new york minute, crossroads and Gigli in interest of full disclosure i watch horrfilms on an almost daily basis… but i tend to kick into overdrive in october… and yes, there will be popcorn and a cat
